Arsenal fans will be excited to hear that AS Roma have turned their attention towards Shkodran Mustafi.
The Serie A outfit have been credited with an interest in Liverpool’s Dejan Lovren. Jurgen Klopp is not looking to sell the Croatian. Tottenham Hotspur have also rejected any offers for Toby Alderweirald, even though his contract is set to end in a year’s time.
Mustafi is a wantaway name at the Emirates. The German centre-back, who has consistently managed to underperform in an Arsenal shirt is no longer wanted at the club by Unai Emery.
He was left out of the starting lineup during the Gunners’ opening day fixture against Newcastle United. Returning from loan, Calum Chambers got the nod alongside Sokratis Papastathopoulos, Ainsley Maitland-Niles and Nacho Monreal.
Arsenal are set to have Rob Holding for selection this weekend and Konstantinos Mavropanos is also making timely recovery from his injury. The North Londoners have signed William Saliba from Saint Etienne, although the youngster will join the side next season.
Raul Sanllehi has a led Arsenal through a successful transfer window. Even though a large amount of money has been expended on signings, the net transfer fee has remained relatively low for the number of departing figures. Selling Mustafi off will be even better as Unai Emery has previously stated that more players are set to leave the club this summer.
