The Gunners would have to pay atleast £60million to land Brazilian midfielder Douglas Luiz this January.
The club has already been linked with a host of new strikers in the winter window but signing a new midfielder is also on their wishlist.
With Thomas Partey expected to leave Emirates at the end of this season, Arsenal has identified the Brazilian midfielder as a perfect replacement.
Aston Villa themselves aren’t too keen to sell one of their prized assets halfway through a season and they would charge an exorbitant transfer fee for his signature.
Douglas Luiz was close to joining Arsenal in the summer of 2022 but Villa rejected a series of bids from the North Londoners.
The Gunners have felt the need to sign a new midfielder in January and consider Luiz as the best man to replace Thomas Partey who is currently out for 6-8 weeks.
Arsenal has already splashed £200m in the summer and remains to be seen whether the club has the capital to sign another midfielder after they sign a top striker in January.
