Aston Villa interested in Arsenal outcast Nuno Tavares.

The 23-year-old defender had an impressive loan spell with Marseille last season and is open to a move away from the Emirates.

This summer he has attracted interest from Aston Villa, Nottingham Forest and West Ham United in the Premier League.

German clubs Werder Bremen Wolfsburg have also made inquiries for the Portuguese defender as Edu has been trying to find a buyer for the 23-year-old.

Aston Villa is looking for a new left-back this summer and Tavares is currently high on their wishlist.

Unai Emery is desperate for a new full-back as Alex Moreno is injured and won’t be available for a few months.

Tavares is currently surplus to requirements at Arsenal despite contributing to six goals with Marseille in the 2022/23 campaign.

He is behind the likes of Oleksandr Zinchenko and Kieran Tierney in the pecking order and only has two years left on his Arsenal contract.

Aston Villa will reportedly offer a one-year deal with an option to make the deal permanent next summer.
