Atalanta winger Ademola lookman to replace Leandro trossard at Arsenal

This summer window has seen Arsenal add six new players, but they haven’t finished yet. Viktor Gyokeres, Christian Norgaard, Noni Madueke, Martin Zubimendi, Kepa Arrizabalaga, and Cristhian Mosquera have already joined the Gunners.
Arsenal is better now than they were the previous season thanks to their acquisitions, but they might still use an attacker before the transfer window closes. While a transfer for Real Madrid player Rodrygo Goes would now be very costly to execute, Eberechi Eze appears to be heading to Tottenham. Now, Fabrizio Romano has revealed yet another possible choice for Arsenal.
Over the past several weeks, Ademola Lookman has dominated Italian transfer news. Despite his outstanding performance for La Dea, the Nigerian international decided to quit the team during this transfer window. After Atalanta turned down Inter Milan’s attempts to buy him earlier this summer, Lookman made a public transfer request.
Lookman had previously been linked to a transfer to Arsenal, but the Gunners haven’t made a firm approach as of yet.
Fabrizio Romano predicts late Lookman to Arsenal move
Earlier this month, FootballLondon revealed that several influential Arsenal officials are pressing for the team to sign Lookman. Lookman and Atalanta are embroiled in a public spat after the latter turned down an offer from Inter of €42 million plus €3 million in add-ons.
After removing all references to Atalanta from his social media sites, the attacker made a furious public statement and requested a transfer. After leaving Italy, he is currently in London and won’t go back until he is sold. This summer, Atalanta is still anticipated to transfer Lookman, but only for a reported €50 million. The club would rather sell the player overseas.
In the summer of 2024, Arsenal, who had long admired Lookman, made an approach. He was possibly Serie A’s greatest player in the first half of the previous season, when Atalanta appeared to be a strong contender for the Scudetto. Even if Lookman’s form declined in 2025 along with Atalanta’s overall performance, he is still among the top players in Serie A.
