Alexandre Lacazette are reportedly being tracked by Atletico Madrid ahead of the summer.
Mikel Arteta has benched Lacazette after the Frenchman’s poor run of form in front of the goal.
Giving Eddie Nketiah the starting spot has sparked some fire in the 29-year-old. He has scored 3 goals in his last 4 appearances, one of two of those being the winner of two games.
Prior to his switch to Arsenal from Olympique Lyon, Atletico Madrid were very close to signing him. Eventually, the move fell apart and Lacazette ended up moving to the Premier League. That suggests that both the player and the La Liga outfit are in good terms.
According to reports, Atletico Sporting Director, Andrea Berta has personally contacted Lacazette. Even though the Frenchman is happy at Arsenal, he would not mind a summer move. His North London future could largely depend on Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s.
Arsenal are pursuing a new agreement with the latter who also happens to be their best player. If Aubameyang were to stay, that would mean handing him a large contract at the expense of selling other stars. Arteta is keen on enhancing his midfield and defensive lines as well.
With Arsenal recording highest amount of losses in years, they could be forced into making a few hard decisions, one of them being the sale of Alexandre Lacazette.
