When the 2026 summer transfer window starts for business in July, both Barcelona and Atlético Madrid want to be highly busy. Each of them will be searching for market possibilities, and the Premier League may provide one.

Atleti intend to improve their midfield, and although Barcelona has a solid midfield, there is room for someone to be added. Marc Casado has been linked to a summer departure, and if Dani Olmo continues to struggle with regularity, there may be questions about his future.

According to CaughtOffside, it is not surprising that Barca and Atleti are monitoring Martin Ødegaard. A departure has been suggested prior to the summer transfer market beginning in July since the former Real Madrid playmaker has struggled at Arsenal over the past several seasons.

Barcelona still trying the chance to sign Arsenal man

According to reports in recent weeks, Arsenal must make a big summer sale in order to offset their substantial expenditure from the previous several years. Given his diminishing significance in Mikel Arteta’s Premier League-leading team, Odegaard would be a probable contender to leave.

Barca or Atleti would have to pay a hefty asking price if they were to make a genuine attempt to sign the former Real Madrid star. The report claims that in order to approve Odegaard’s departure, Arsenal is willing to demand up to €100 million.

Barcelona is well aware of Odegaard’s circumstances because they were connected to him earlier in the season. Even so, it wouldn’t make much sense to sign him until Olmo or Fermin Lopez left, in which case Atleti would have a greater chance of arranging the Norway international’s return to Spanish football.
