According to the reports coming out of Spain, Barcelona have picked Sead Kolasinac in their 6-man shortlist for a left-back addition this summer.
The Blaugrana are reportedly interested in signing a backup defender who will be able to compete with a 30-year-old Jordi Alba next season. They are considering players based on their experience in the La Liga and in general, top-flight football.
While Kolasinac has never played in Spain, he is believed to be capable of filling in the Camp Nou ranks. Due to his sheer size and pace on the flanks, Barcelona think they can gain more dynamism in the left-hand side.
The Catalan giants have allotted around €30m to find their man and Arsenal are looking to bank around €25m from Kolasinac’s sale. The 25-year-old has not exactly been as outstanding as he was expected to be when Arsene Wenger brought him in from Schalke in 2017.
He suffered a knee injury this past season but he slowly started to make a case for himself under Unai Emery, making 36 appearances in total. Previously it was Nacho Monreal who was linked with a move to Barcelona since the Spaniard’s contract was running down to an end.
He is now 33 and Arsenal will have to look for replacements if they are to let go of either. Hopefully, Emery has his player picked out if he plans on selling Kolasinac.
