The German outfit has set their sights on Arsenal academy product, Xavier Amaechi. The 18-year-old has made 8 appearances for Freddie Ljungberg’s U23 side this season and has registered 3 goals and 5 assists.
He has been recognized to be among the next rising star who could profit from a stint overseas. While many of his youth teammates like Emile Smith-Rowe, Bukayo Saka and Edward Nketiah have been handed minutes for the Gunners senior squad, injury has prevented Amaechi from making an impression on Unai Emery.
But that has not disheartened interested clubs as the report from Onefootball claims that scouts from 14 Bundesliga outfits were at the 2-2 draw against Swansea City last weekend to watch the youngster play.
Bayern are known to be on the lookout for the next wing sensation with both Arjen Robben and Frank Ribery’s career slowly coming to an end. They looked really determined to land Callum Hudson-Odoi in the 2019 January transfer window but could not get over Chelsea’s resistance.
Arsenal have protected their rights to Amaechi by signing him to a contract till the summer of 2022. Niko Kovac’s side will have to meet the youngster’s asking price with his demand rising by the minute.
