Bournemouth winger Ryan Fraser feels that the reports linking him to Arsenal are a result of his progress with Bournemouth.

The Scot joined the Cherries from Aberdeen in 2013 on a transfer fee of £400000. Fraser has gradually become an important player for Bournemouth, making 170 appearances for the club so far. Fraser has 22 goals and 25 assists to his name.

This season, Fraser has done well for Bournemouth so far, scoring 7 goals and providing 11 assists in 36 appearances across all competitions. Fraser is the third highest assist provider in the Premier League at the moment behind Eden Hazard and Christian Eriksen.

Fraser’s performances this season have reportedly attracted the interest of Arsenal.

Speaking about the reports linking him to Arsenal, Fraser said, “I’m not going to lie, it’s very nice. It means you are are doing something right. They are a huge club, a massive club. When you see your name thrown around you always think to yourself that you are a Bournemouth player and you try to do well.

I’m not going to lie, you do feel good, especially when it’s a massive club.”

Bournemouth are just 8 points behind their all-time highest Premier League points tally of 46 in the 2016-17 season and Fraser believes his team can better that tally this season.

The 25-year old said, “The gaffer here has got us playing some great football. Obviously our away form has not been great but, I think, if we can win the majority of our last six games then there is a good chance that we can create something the club has never done before. Seventh is going to be difficult after Wolves winning the other night and Leicester beating us, but if we can beat our highest-ever points total, which is massively doable, it’s another one in the history books.”

Bournemouth play their next fixture against Burnley on Saturday.
