Mikel Arteta claims he was the solution to Aubameyang problem.
The Gabon striker was stripped of captaincy due to a disciplinary breach back in December and hasn’t featured for Arsenal since.
On the deadline day, Aubameyang decided to end his four-year spell at Emirates by joining La Liga giants Barcelona on a free transfer.
He cancelled his big pay cheque at Arsenal and took a significant pay cut to facilitate his move to Camp Nou.
In a press conference with Barcelona, Aubameyang mentioned that Arteta was the sole reason for the fallout between him and the manager.
“I’m extremely grateful for what Auba has done at the club for his contribution since I have been here and the way I see myself in that relationship is the solution not the problem,” Arteta said, as cited by the Daily Mail.
“I have been the solution. One hundred per cent. I can look in the eye of anybody. I do a lot of things wrong for sure but the intention all the time is the best and not for me, it’s for the club and for the team.”
