Albert Sambi Lokonga of Arsenal is a player that Brighton and Hove Albion are interested in signing
The midfielder is struggling to even make the bench in Mikel Arteta’s side as he has plummeted down the pecking order at the Emirates Stadium. This makes it crystal apparent where the player’s future is. This summer, a number of teams expressed interest in the young midfielder, with Burnley pounding on the door the hardest.
However, discussions with Vincent Kompany’s camp have stagnated, and there haven’t been any recent conversations between the parties involved. That has encouraged other teams that are eager to sign the Arsenal player to their roster. The newest team with interest in temporarily signing Lokonga appears to be Brighton.
The Seagulls are obviously seeking to sign a successor for the Ecuadorian following Moises Caicedo’s departure in a British-record deal.
All parties will benefit from a loan agreement. If the 23-year-old makes an impression at the Amex, the Gunners may be able to negotiate a good price for their asset next summer. Brighton, however, will sign a talented player. And even if the outcomes don’t live up to expectations, they won’t be required to make the agreement permanent the following year.
There are others in the same situation as Lokonga, and they will be hoping to leave the Emirates Stadium’s shores before the transfer window closes. Furthermore, it would be foolish to rule out any new additions if the North London club can extract decent money from them.
