Arsenal will be desperate for Saka to be readily available over the final two months of the season.
Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta gives a major update on the injury of Bykayo Saka ahead of crucial clash against Brighton. He is hopeful Saka will be available for the weekend after he missed victory over Luton Town.
Saka even missed out both international friendlies against Brazil and Belgium last month. The Englishman was passed fit to start Sunday’s goalless draw against Manchester City before he limped off in the 78th minute.
Saka was seen arriving against Luton alongside his Arsenal teammates but Arteta decided to leave him out. Arteta spoke to TNT Sports: “He had to come off against Man City three days ago feeling something and he hasn’t been able to do everything that we needed to give him the chance to start the game. So we have decided not to play him.”
“He was close but again he felt something in a very similar area against Man City and it was a very short turnaround. Hopefully, he’ll be able to train again and we can have him for the weekend.”
Arsenal will be desperate for Saka to be readily available over the final two months of the season. He has scored 16 goals and provided 13 assists in 38 competitive appearances.
