The Tottenham Hotspur man is in a long line of admirers of Saka, who has burst out as one of Arsenal’s best players this season.
He has scored on 6 occasions and laid out 7 assists in 33 appearances this term. Mikel Arteta relies on him heavily to bring the creative output from either flanks. Dier outlined just how impressive Saka has been while sharing the pitch with him on England duty.
“I have spent a lot of time now with Bukayo in the international set-up,” he said. “I think he is a fantastic player.
“I think he has gone a bit under the radar, if anything, in terms of what he has done this season compared to other young, English players. He is a fantastic guy as well. I enjoy spending time with him when we are with England. But when we play [against each other], all of that is irrelevant – I just want to win.”
Arsenal are gearing up to face Tottenham Hotspur in the North London derby next. Saka will no doubt feature at the Emirates now that he is fully fit. He is the one outfield player who has featured more than anybody this season in the Gunners dressing room.
