Arsenal are yet to tie down the youngster to a new deal in the midst of the Coronavirus pandemic.
Prior to the total shutdown of football, Saka was enjoying a breakout season in North London. He had recorded 9 assists and 3 goals in 29 appearances for the Gunners this term. Rival outfits have taken notice of his £7,000-per-week contract and are ready to take advantage.
Saka’s deal is set to expire in June 2021 which has got the attention of several Bundesliga teams. He is still currently on his first professional contract, the one he signed while still in the Arsenal academy. After this season, however, he fully deserves a solid pay bump along with a long-standing deal.
Saka has established himself as a solid threat to senior players on the left flank. Primarily a creative winger, he has adapted to the role of a left-back and excelled. That just proves his mentality as a professional, highlighting his strengths. Arsenal are keen on keeping the 18-year-old for the foreseeable future but other clubs could seep into Saka’s mind.
Despite being a regular this year, Saka could still have to fight for his spot once everyone gets back to full health at Arsenal. With the Euros postponed to 2021, he has a good shot at getting into the England squad. Maybe gambling with playing time elsewhere is not in the best of his interests.
