Gary Neville was absolutely stunned by Bukayo Saka’s performances against Everton.
The Arsenal wonderkid has been attracting a lot of praise this season at left wing-back and he showed it first hand in the 3-2 win on Sunday.
Saka came on to replace the injured Sead Kolasinac early on in the game. He was meant to be rested after playing the full Olympiacos fixture on Thursday night. Like usual, Saka was prolific going forward down the left and ended up assisting Eddie Nketiah to Arsenal’s first goal.
It was the equalizer after which Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored to give the Gunners the lead. Saka has now racked up 9 assists in 26 games for Arsenal, along with 3 goals. He is surprising many with his output on the pitch and Manchester United legend, Neville was no exception to that.
“(Alex) Iwobi goes to sleep a little bit but he doesn’t do too much wrong. But that cross, wow,” said the former Red Devils captain. “There is not a lot a defender can do about that and neither can the goalkeeper.
“The quality of the cross was absolutely outstanding. All you want is your striker in that position and he (Nketiah) is. He gets a good contact on it. It’s harsh to suggest that Arsenal fans were happy that Sead Kolasinac went off but there was a bit of a cheer. What a cross from Saka. I was having a mundane chat because I thought nothing was on.”
