Fabregas claims Man Utd’s turmoil has derailed three top stars

Cesc Fabregas has delivered a damning verdict on Manchester United’s troubled season, pointing to the struggles of Jadon Sancho, Casemiro, and Sofyan Amrabat as clear indicators that all is not well at Old Trafford.

United’s campaign ended in disappointment, with an eighth-place finish in the Premier League, a fourth-round exit in the Carabao Cup, and a last-place finish in their Champions League group.

Despite the season’s low points, the team did manage to clinch the FA Cup, triumphing over Manchester City.

However, Fabregas, the former Arsenal and Chelsea star, didn’t hold back his concerns. He highlighted the dramatic decline in form of Sancho, Casemiro, and Amrabat, suggesting their struggles are symptomatic of deeper issues at the club.

“Manchester United will come back because they are a big team but look at Jadon Sancho. He’s not doing well at United, he goes to Dortmund and he looks again like the player we all thought he was going to be,” Fabregas told the BBC ’s Planet Premier League podcast.

“Look at the midfielder that impressed for Morocco at the World Cup [Amrabat], he was fantastic. And then he goes to Man United and he’s not been the same player. Casemiro won Champions League after Champions League at Real Madrid.

“He was the best defensive midfielder in the world and then he goes to Manchester United and looks like a completely different player. Obviously it makes me think that something is wrong there. It’s not a coincidence that three top, top players come in and they are not good all of a sudden.”

Sancho’s fallout with manager Erik ten Hag in September led to his loan move to Borussia Dortmund.

Casemiro, once a stalwart, faced criticism that his days at the top level were numbered. Meanwhile, Amrabat, who shone at the 2022 World Cup, floundered after his move to United.

“These players didn’t suddenly lose their talent,” Fabregas remarked, hinting at internal problems affecting performance.

Ten Hag attributed the struggles to injury woes, but the decline of these stars has fans and pundits questioning the club’s direction.

As the dust settles, Manchester United faces a crucial summer. Restoring harmony and form will be essential if they hope to bounce back next season.
