Dani Ceballos Will Leave Real Madrid If Zidane Remains In Charge

Dani Ceballos’ Arsenal future could largely depend on what happens through the remainder of this season.

There is little evidence to suggest that he would be accepted back in Real Madrid while Zinedine Zidane is in charge.

Even though the midfielder wants to head back to the Galacticos, his aspirations are likely to be stamped on. Arsenal have extended his loan spell until the end of this season but hold no power in retaining his services permanently.

On Saturday, Marca reported, “When he returns from north London in August, the midfielder knows that his future at Los Blancos relies on who is in charge. If Zinedine Zidane is still in the job next season, Ceballos will have to leave – the club and the player himself know that. Ceballos wants to play and be important in the team, and that’s not going to happen if Zidane remains the coach.”

Zidane previously told reporters that he sent Ceballos out on loan to let him play more. He said, “No, it’s not that I did not get along with Dani Ceballos that he left the team.

“I think he needed a lot more play[ing time] because he’s an important player. It’s true that at Real, he did not have enough minutes, that’s all. There are a lot of players here, a lot of competition. I wish him to play many games and do well with his new team, Arsenal.”

That might not have been true as to Ceballos being sent out simply because he was not needed back at Madrid. Little has changed in the past year and the midfielder could be moved out permanently this summer. Another loan spell will reportedly cost the Gunners €10.5 million which is outrageous at this point.
