Declan Rice made a British record-breaking move this summer.

The England international completed a club-record £105million move to the Emirates from West Ham in this summer window.

He spent the last six years at West Ham United and helped the squad win the European Conference League last season.

The Gunners faced stiff competition from the likes of Chelsea, Manchester City and Man United for the former Hammers skipper.

The 24-year-old midfielder eventually decided to move to the Emirates because of the vision presented to him by Arsenal and Mikel Arteta.

He further explained how Arteta played a huge role in his dream move in the summer.

“I looked at the squad, how young everyone was, how good they’ve been for the last two or three seasons, not only last year, and the trajectory they’re currently on,” he told FourFourTwo.

“I know there’s so many more levels to reach and feel like Mikel is the best manager to take me there. I learned so much over my time under David Moyes and he improved me as a player.

“Now I can add a new dimension to my game – things I possibly hadn’t worked on before, weaknesses I had, and Mikel can bring the best out of me. That’s why I decided to join Arsenal.”
