Eberechi Eze has been advised to enjoy his freedom at Crystal Palace and turn down a summer move to Arsenal. There have been frequent rumors that the Gunners will make a £60 million summer move for the 27-year-old, but there have been few updates on the status of the possible transaction.
When Palace defeated Manchester City in the FA Cup final, Eze scored the game-winning goal, launching Palace to their first major victory ever. He finished the season with a career-high 14 goals and 11 assists in all competitions.
The England player would be Mikel Arteta’s eighth summer acquisition during the Premier League team’s costly transfer window. Mikael Silvestre thinks Eze should turn down the transfer because of the intense competition he would face at the Emirates Stadium, even if Palace would undoubtedly want to keep their lucky player.
According to the former Manchester United and Arsenal defender, the attacking midfielder would find it difficult to make a name for himself in the starting lineup at the north London team and is in the ideal situation with Palace.
Former Arsenal player Mikael Silvestre has stated that he believes Eze should really decline the transfer because of the fierce competition for a spot at the Emirates Stadium, even if Palace would obviously love to keep their best player.
The offensive midfield player is in a great position at Palace, according to the former Manchester United defender, and it may be difficult for him to establish a consistent position in Arsenal’s starting lineup. Speaking to Hajper, Silvestre stated, “Eberechi Eze to Arsenal? Since he enjoys so much freedom and happiness at Crystal Palace and there is a lot of competition, I honestly don’t believe it would be beneficial for him.
Meanwhile, after praising Eze during England practices, Bukayo Saka has already quietly suggested to his Arsenal teammates that they should be ready to fight for their positions. “Eze has been class in training,” Saka said, echoing his enthusiasm. I think he has impressed me the most.
According to the Mirror, the Eagles are well-positioned to bargain if they want to let Eze leave because he still has two years left on his Crystal Palace deal.
