Arsenal’s attempt to capture Eberechi Eze has been greatly aided by reports that the Crystal Palace playmaker has “told friends” he will be joining the Gunners this summer.

In addition to agreeing to a £55 million deal with Sporting for Viktor Gyokeres, whose medical is scheduled for this week before his move to the Emirates, the Gunners have already paid a total of £123 million for the signings of Martin Zubimendi, Noni Madueke, Kepa Arrizabalaga, and Christian Norgaard this summer.

According to GMS sources, Arsenal has talked about putting in a bid to sign Eze during meetings with important players. However, it has been recognized that they will have a difficult time persuading Crystal Palace to reduce their demands if they decide to go to the negotiating table.

As they try to make another run for the Premier League title in the coming season, the Gunners are well aware that they have the chance to take advantage of a £68 million release clause written into the 27-year-old’s Eagles contract, which would render his current employers powerless.

Arsenal hold talks over signing Crystal Palace midfield star

According to Fraser Fletcher, TEAMtalk’s transfer correspondent, who reported on June 26 that the Crystal Palace attacking midfielder was extremely pleased with the offer that the north London club made him, Eberechi Eze is also on Arsenal’s radar.

Eze thinks he will sign with Arsenal once the Premier League team completes a deal for Gyokeres, according to TBR. The 27-year-old has informed friends that he will be joining Arsenal this summer. He played as a left-winger in the past but was primarily an attacking midfielder last season.

Arsenal has reportedly had talks with Palace and Eze, who is regarded as a serious option for the north London club, according to TBR. On July 17, Fraser Fletcher, TEAMtalk’s transfer correspondent, was informed by sources that Chelsea is in communication with Eze’s agents.

According to TEAMtalk, Chelsea is prepared to exercise the £68 million release clause in the England international’s Palace contract. Arsenal has expressed interest in Eze, but they are unwilling to spend £68 million on him.
