Arsenal manager Unai Emery has said that the club will spend in the summer transfer window. The Gunners have been linked to a number of players during the ongoing transfer window. These include Denis Suarez, James Rodriguez, Christopher Nkunku and lately, Ivan Perisic.
Earlier, Emery said that Arsenal would only sign players on loan during the winter transfer window. Things are not going well for Arsenal at present as they have lost Hector Bellerin due to injury.
Despite losing Bellerin and other injury concerns, Unai Emery has said that the club is not in a position to buy players this month. However, he also stated that the situation will be much different in the summer.
The Spaniard said, “The club are telling me that this moment is not good to buy players. But the club say to me in the summer it is going to be different and we are going to have chances to spend money. The easiest thing for me is to ask for more players but I love to work with my players. My challenge is to improve the players.
I’m happy with the players, we have enough to achieve big performances in the Premier League and Europa League. In the Premier League we are pushing to be in the top four.”
Arsenal are currently 5th in the Premier League table, three points behind fourth-place Chelsea. The Gunners will hope to add another three points to their tally tonight when they face Cardiff City at the Emirates.
