Unai Emery has insisted that Arsenal are working on signing Denis Suarez from Barcelona, though refrained from taking the name of the player. The Spanish ace has been closely linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium this January.
Speaking to the media after their win against Chelsea, the gaffer said, “I know the club is working with different possibilities if (it) can help us for these four months for our competition.”
He added, “I know it’s a difficult window for the transfer market and if a player is coming to help us I am happy. But the club is doing that and I am going to wait.”
Arsenal’s Welsh midfield ace Aaron Ramsey might be on the move and has been closely linked with the Serie A champions Juventus this January. Though Suarez won’t be a like-to-like replacement for the player, he could do a decent job in the midfield and could also put in a shift for Mesut Ozil, who has not been in the best of forms this season.
Suarez has been kept on the bench for too long at Barcelona and would need a chance to prove himself at the highest level. Arsenal could give him that chance and in return could get a very good player at their disposal.
