Bukayo Saka was awarded Arsenal’s January player of the month award after his stunning performances for the first team.
Alongside him, fans have also seen the emergence of another academy product, Smith Rowe in the number ten role. Mikel Arteta has found a creative outlet in his midfield again and continues to rely on him heavily.
Saka told Premier League’s official YouTube channel, “[He has] settled in perfectly, he was patient for his opportunity and I think he deserved it. When he got it he took it and showed the impact he can make for the team.
“He’s a livewire across the pitch, he’s everywhere, he will run into space, pass into space and create opportunities for all of us. I love playing with him and I’m really happy with what he’s done in the team since he’s come in.”
Smith Rowe has 10 goal contributions in 15 games for Arsenal across all competitions this term. His energy, creativity and maturity has firmly established him as a starter under Arteta. So much so, that new signing, Martin Odegaard is still waiting to get his first start in Arsenal colours.
