Former Manchester United defender Patrice Evra has labelled Arsenal as ‘babies’, saying he wasn’t surprised by the way the Gunners have performed in the recent weeks.
Unai Emery’s men succumbed to a 1-0 loss against Sheffield United at Bramall Lane, missing the chance to go third in the league table. Lys Mousset’s 30th-minute goal was enough to deprive them of the three points.
And, Evra hasn’t held back in criticising his rivals, saying they are no different from what they were a decade when he used to regularly beat them.
“They [Sheffield United] deserved the win but I’m not surprised about Arsenal,” said Evra.
“I used to call them ‘my babies’ ten years ago and they’re still babies when I look at them.”
“I’m not being disrespectful when I say that, it’s just the feeling I’ve got with this team.”
“They look pretty, they look good but they don’t look like a winning team.”
“I was so happy to play against Arsenal because I knew I was going to win.”
“Guendouzi…he was playing in the second tier in France and even then he wasn’t playing regularly and he’s the best player on this team!”
“I respect the likes of Aubameyang and Lacazette but you can see if those guys don’t score goals then they are in trouble.”
