Arsenal have reportedly reached a total agreement with Sporting CP striker Viktor Gyokeres, marking a potential major boost for their attacking ambitions this summer.

“Total Agreement” Reached: Gyokeres Pushing for Arsenal Move

Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano revealed the breakthrough, saying: “Gyokeres has reached TOTAL agreement with Arsenal on contract terms and informed Sporting about his desire to join AFC.

No intention to discuss other options, only to proceed with Arsenal as soon as possible”.

The 27-year-old Swedish forward, who notched a staggering 54 goals across all competitions last season, has made it clear he won’t don Sporting boots again.

He’s refused pre-season training and is wholly focused on his move to the Emirates.

Sporting president Federico Varandas has held firm on valuation resisting lower offers despite Gyokeres’s belief in an earlier gentleman’s agreement but acknowledges that the striker is increasingly set on leaving.

For Mikel Arteta, Gyokeres represents the kind of game-changing focal point Arsenal have lacked since injuries struck Gabriel Jesus and Kai Havertz last season.

The acquisition would join the earlier summer signings of Kepa Arrizabalaga and Martin Zubimendi, rounding out a squad designed to challenge on multiple fronts.

While personal terms are reportedly signed suggesting a long-term deal is in the works the clubs still need to settle on a fee. Press reports cite figures of €65 million plus up to €15 million in add-ons.

The negotiations are said to be in advanced stages, with a ‘large Gunners delegation’ allegedly arriving in Lisbon to drive the deal forward.

Even though formalities remain, the sense from both player and club is clear: Gyokeres aims to be an Arsenal player before their pre-season tour, ideally even before their early Premier League game against Manchester United.

Success on that front would cap a transfer window already buzzing with ambition and promise.
