Arsenal Still Considering €100M Viktor Gyokeres, Says Fabrizio Romano
Arsenal still have their sights on Sporting CP’s Viktor Gyokeres as a potential target for the 2024/25 season, according to recent updates.
With reports from Portugal suggesting an imminent deal, renowned football journalist Fabrizio Romano has clarified that negotiations are far from complete.
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is in the hunt for a new striker, and Gyokeres remains one of the names on the list. The Swedish forward, who enjoyed a phenomenal season with Sporting CP, netting 43 goals and providing 15 assists, has attracted attention from top European clubs.
His contributions were pivotal in helping Sporting secure the league title, underscoring his capability and consistency.
However, Romano has emphasized that while Arsenal initiated contact with Gyokeres’ camp between April and May, they have yet to make a definitive move.

Romano’s insights reveal that Arsenal are not prepared to rush into a high-cost deal. “They are informed about the conditions of the €100 million release clause, but also the cost of the deal in terms of salary and all the rest,” he noted.
