Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has issued a definitive verdict on Arsenal’s stance regarding winger Gabriel Martinelli, emphatically stating the club remains “very happy” with the Brazilian star.

Romano Says Arsenal Are “Very Happy” with Martinelli

This comes amid swirling rumours that Arsenal might consider selling Martinelli to fund a move for Real Madrid’s Rodrygo.

Martinelli, whom former Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp once hailed as a “talent of the century,” has been at Arsenal since 2019.

With 52 goals and 30 assists in 229 appearances, he has developed into one of the Premier League’s most dangerous wingers.

Despite reported interest from Bayern Munich and AC Milan, Arsenal valued him at over £60 million during the summer—a figure potential suitors did not meet.

Speculation suggested that sporting director Andrea Berta and manager Mikel Arteta could offload Martinelli to pursue Rodrygo.

However, Romano clarified Arsenal’s position after Martinelli’s impactful performance in the Champions League victory against Athletic Bilbao.

Coming on as a substitute, Martinelli scored and assisted within minutes, sealing a 2–0 win for the Gunners.

Romano emphasized Martinelli’s “top mentality” and the club’s satisfaction with his contributions. Arteta also recently affirmed Martinelli’s importance, stating, “He’s going to remain very, very, very important.”

The club’s strategic shift, including signing Eberechi Eze and Noni Madueke, provides depth but does not diminish Martinelli’s role. His recent displays have only reinforced his value to the squad.

Arsenal fans can rest assured: for now, Martinelli remains a key part of the club’s plans.
