Fiorentina remains interested in completing the transfer of Lucas Torreira at the end of this season
The Uruguayan has regained his form at the Serie A club where he is on loan this season.
The Italians agreed with Arsenal to sign him permanently for 15 million euros at the end of the season. They are now ready to pursue that route and will meet with the Gunners in the coming weeks.
Firenze Viola predicts that the meeting will take place shortly, but that Arsenal will not show up as pleasant people. This is due to the fact that they had hoped to recruit Dusan Vlahovic from the Florence club, but he instead joined Juventus.
However, they would inform the Gunners that they tried to do a deal with them, but the player decided to transfer to Turin. It makes no sense for Arsenal to be upset with Fiorentina over the loss of Vlahovic.
The Serbian striker made it plain that he did not want to transfer to the Emirates and instead joined his preferred bidder.
Even Fiorentina would have preferred to trade him outside of Serie A, but the player’s desire triumphed.
At the meeting, Arsenal should concentrate on offloading Torreira and pulling as much money as possible from this move.
