According to Sky Sports, Fulham is still negotiating personal terms with Cedric Soares’ representatives as they aim to lure him away from Arsenal during the January transfer window.
According to Sky, Cedric has been given permission by Arsenal to negotiate with Fulham, and Fulham will attempt to close the deal with Arsenal once they have reached an agreement with the right-back.
Cedric is a long-term aim for Fulham and still has 18 months left on his contract with Arsenal. According to some recent rumours, Fulham was reportedly beginning to look at alternative possibilities as its bid for Cedric stalled.
Sky, however, makes it abundantly apparent that if the current negotiations go well, the purchase could still go through. At first, The Evening Standard claimed that Cedric’s salary were delaying Fulham’s pursuit of him. Arsenal pays the player about £65,000 each week, and Fulham is hesitant to match that.
However, the 31-year-old has already missed the previous three games from Mikel Arteta’s matchday squads, suggesting that both he and the team are preparing for a possible departure. Cedric is also a target for Atletico Madrid and Bayer Leverkusen if Fulham decides to search elsewhere. Over the past month, Cedric’s representatives have spoken with all three clubs.
