Gabriel Jesus was sent for further assessment on Thursday.
Arsenal striker Gabriel Jesus has been sent for a scan on the hamstring injury. The Brazilian sustained an injury during Tuesday’s Champions League win over Sevilla.
The 26-year-old was vital for Arsenal’s success at the Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan. Arsenal bounced back from their previous loss to Lens.
The former City man was taken off with a hamstring issue just before the end. Eddie Nketiah saw out Arsenal’s nervy 2-1 win in Seville.
Arteta said that Jesus asking to leave the field was not a good sign, although the striker himself stated that he was “pretty sure” his affliction was minor.
As per the Evening Standard, he was sent for further assessment on Thursday. The report adds that Gunners remained in Seville overnight on Tuesday.
If Jesus misses out regularly, it will be a big blow. The Brazilian has already been forced to undergo two knee operations since arriving at Arsenal last summer.
