Gareth Southgate reveals the reason behind Ben White England snub.

The Arsenal defender has not been part of the England squad since November 2022 and was omitted from the squad for the 5th consecutive time.

The Three Lions manager Gareth Southgate named a 25-man squad for the upcoming European Qualifier games against Malta and North Macedonia.

Ben White pulled out of the England squad right before the 2022 World Cup due to personal reasons.

There have been reports that White might have had a fallout with Southgate but the manager has rubbished any such claims.

Southgate explained why Ben White is continually missing out on the England squad even though he’s been phenomenal for Arsenal this season.

He also reassured White was not left out for anything more than footballing issues.

Southgate replied: ‘I assume so.

‘Ben’s been very solid for Arsenal. He is a different profile of full-back. He’s more of a centre-back playing at full-back really.

‘And he’s obviously doing a good job for his club, he’s just behind a couple of others in our reckoning.’
