The former Manchester City star, currently thriving in the Bundesliga, is reportedly leaning towards a move to London if he were to return to the Premier League.

Speaking in his column for CaughtOffside, Falk shed light on the factors behind Sane’s preference for Arsenal, including his familiarity with Mikel Arteta, who coached him during their time together at Manchester City.

“Arsenal and Mikel Arteta are a draw for Sane,” Falk explained.

“London has always been appealing to him and his family, especially after they struggled to fully settle in Manchester.”

Arsenal’s resurgence under Arteta, including their Champions League qualification and Premier League title challenge last season, also bolsters their attractiveness.

With the Gunners on track to maintain their elite European status, the club presents a tempting proposition for a player of Sane’s caliber.

By contrast, Manchester United’s allure is complicated by uncertainty. The club is transitioning under new manager Ruben Amorim, and while their ambitions are high, the Red Devils are still finding consistency in their performances.

Despite Sane’s interest in Arsenal, questions remain about his fit within their starting XI. With Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka firmly established as first-choice wingers, competition for a spot could be fierce.

Yet, Sane’s pedigree—honed through a standout career at Bayern Munich and Manchester City—would make him a valuable asset to Arteta’s squad, particularly with Arsenal competing on multiple fronts.

As for Manchester United, Sane could bring dynamism to a side in need of reliable wide options. However, the decision may hinge on Amorim’s vision and how prominently Sane would feature in his plans.

For now, the ball is in Arsenal’s court. If Arteta and the Gunners pursue Sane, it seems they could have the edge over United in securing one of Europe’s most electrifying wingers.
