Gomes to return versus Arsenal: Ancelotti

Everton manager Carlo Ancelotti has declared that Andre Gomes will be ready to face Arsenal in the Premier League.

Andre Gomes had to be taken off versus Tottenham Hotspur after a clash with Son saw the Portuguese midfielder leave with a dislocated ankle.

“He did well (in the weekend practice match), he played comfortably and without any problems and he is available, in my opinion, to play,” Ancelotti told evertontv.

“Of course, I have to speak to him about how he feels after playing his first game following a long time out. My personal opinion is he is ready to play.

“When a player has been out for a long period, I think it is better to start the game.

“He can prepare properly, (rather) than to put him on from the bench but I have to speak to him and together we can find a solution.”

The two clubs are still quite a way outside the top 4 spot. However, the fight for fourth spot is still on with Everton and Arsenal firmly being outsiders.

The race is only on because almost all teams in the league this season have taken points off each other.
