The Swiss midfielder earlier stated that he was prepared to fight his way back into the Arsenal first team.
However, RSI claims that Xhaka is open to the idea of leaving Arsenal. The situation has not improved for him even after his public statement following the row with Gunners fans.
The 26-year-old has since been dropped from the Arsenal squad by Unai Emery. His place in the senior side could remain the same after the international break as well.
It would not be a huge surprise if he switched to AC Milan in January because it was Ivan Gazidis who originally, brought Xhaka to Arsenal. The Swiss midfielder could also be better suited to the more tactical playing style in Italy.
Xhaka was not exactly a fan favourite even prior to the fallout with supporters. He was viewed as a promising midfield enforcer when he first arrived in 2015 but his game has not developed as expected. Therefore, it was all the more surprising when he got named captain of the side and got handed a brand new extension last summer.
