Alexandre Lacazette has hinted on Instagram something very particular about Thomas Lemar.
The Arsenal forward went on his Insta profile and liked a particular Lemar post.
This is now unusual since Lemar and Lacazette have never played for the same club.
In fact, Lemar plays for Atletico Madrid, a club Arsenal lost to in their Europa League semi final defeat.
However, Lemar has been unhappy at Atletico Madrid. Lemar is a luxury player who is brilliant on the ball and when attacking but is of little use for teams who like to defend deep, have wingers tracking back and then hitting on the break.
For Atletico Madrid under Diego Simeone, that is all they need. Players who can run and defend besides their regular tasks of attacking, passing or scoring.
Lemar was very strongly linked with a move to Arsenal instead when he left AS Monaco. Arsenal would definitely have been the better fit for him where the team love to keep the ball and attack.
Now that Arteta is in the club and the transfer window is open, Arsenal could be looking for new players and Lemar and Lacazette might have given us a hint about what might go down!
