Arsenal midfielder, Mohamed Elneny has been told by his former coach to leave North London for his own professional growth.

It seems like the Egyptian’s career has stalled at the Emirates since the introduction of Unai Emery as head coach of the Gunners. Elneny has featured in only one Premier League game so far into the 2018/19 season and 5 UEFA Europa League games.

He was a rotational figure in the defensive midfield role under Arsene Wenger but is now behind Lucas Torreira, Granit Xhaka and 19-year-old Matteo Guendouzi in the pecking order.

Speaking to Goal.com, Elneny’s former coach at El Mokawloon, Hamdy Nouh was quoted – “He needs to leave Arsenal in the next transfer market, at least on loan to play more and regain his confidence.”

“He is committed to the coach’s instructions on and off the pitch, which always helps him to be present mainly with most of the teams he has played for. He is one of the best players I have trained, he has a constant desire to learn and develop.”
Elneny signed a new contract with Arsenal last March that keeps him at the Emirates till June 2022.

Nouh further added, “He has been influenced lately by the change in coach and his new style, but I am confident that he will return better than before, because of his great potential and the competitive spirit that will help him get back in.”
