Arsenal have stated that Hector Bellerin’s surgery to repair his torn anterior crucial ligament has been completed successfully.
The right-back had to be stretchered off during the 2-0 Premier League win over Chelsea on 19th January 2019. He has been ruled out for nine months, impending rehabilitation after the surgery which took place in Spain.
This is a positive sign for all Gunners fans who will also be delighted to know that Laurent Koscielny has full resumed training after escaping a jaw-break scare. The Frenchman was rushed off to the hospital immediately after the 1-3 FA Cup defeat against Manchester United last week.
Fortunately, the injuries were minor and the veteran centre-back could be available for the upcoming fixture against Manchester City on 3rd February.
Sokratis Papastathopoulos is due to return from an ankle injury towards the end of February. Both him and Henrikh Mkhitaryan are being assessed with the latter due to make a comeback soon.
Arsenal have managed to take advantage of the shortcomings of Premier League rivals this week to climb themselves up to the 4th spot of the table. Unai Emery’s men recorded a 2-1 victory over Cardiff City while Chelsea fell to Bournemouth 4-0 and Manchester United dropped points against Burnley with a 2-2 draw.
The next fixture against the English champions will be a true test of character for the Gunners.
