It has been a troubling two seasons for the Spaniard who had to undergo several injury spells including a big one on his knee.
He has returned to start several games under Mikel Arteta but the permanent signing of Cedric Soares could change things up for the 24-year-old. The Arsenal head coach has revealed why he signed Cedric even if the Portuguese was 29 and injury-prone. His technical ability is superior to that of Bellerin and he clearly showed that in his two appearances against Norwich City and Wolves.
Arsenal are still in a rebuilding stage and there is no guarantee who will stay and who will leave. Bellerin has no doubt, suffered a drop in quality at the right-back spot but he remains a key part of this squad. He is one of the oldest members in the team and even pegged to be future captain.
Watching him leave would be a bitter pill to swallow for the Gunners fans but might be a necessary one. Sevilla are expressing an interest while Arsenal need funds to improve other positions. Arteta has expressed clearly how badly he wants to strengthen his midfield. The Gunners will not be able to back up their new manager during these troubling financial times.
Finding value from every nook and cranny will be imperative to Arsenal’s success in the summer transfer window.
