Arsenal legend Thierry Henry has shared an optimistic yet realistic verdict on his former club’s chances of overturning their Champions League semi-final deficit against Paris Saint-Germain.

Thierry Henry Rates Arsenal’s Chances of Champions League Comeback Against PSG

The Gunners suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat in the first leg at the Emirates, with Ousmane Dembele’s clinical finish giving PSG a valuable away win.

The north London side now faces an uphill task as they prepare for a decisive second leg at the Parc des Princes on May 7.

Speaking on CBS Sports, Henry acknowledged PSG’s dominance in the first leg but insisted that the tie is far from over.

“There is another tie — you never know what’s going to happen,” said the Arsenal great.

“PSG were far superior in this game, so a lot needs to change for Arsenal to beat them in Paris. But they’re still in it. Anything can happen.”

Henry highlighted Dembele’s influence, noting that Arsenal found more space once the winger was substituted.

“When Dembele came off, PSG dropped off. That gave Arsenal more room to push forward. It shows the fine margins at this level,” he added.

Manager Mikel Arteta remains confident in his side’s ability to stage a comeback.

In his post-match press conference, the Spaniard stated, “I don’t know the percentage, but we have a lot of chances to be in that final. The time to earn it is going to be in Paris.”

Despite the defeat, Arsenal created three big chances — more than in any other game this season apart from their Carabao Cup loss to Newcastle — but failed to convert.

It was also their first goalless home game in the Champions League since 2016.

Midfielder Mikel Merino echoed the belief within the squad. “We know we’re a powerful team. We can’t wait to go to Paris. Today was just the beginning — we showed we can play against anyone,” he said.

Arsenal’s backs are against the wall, but belief, as Henry pointed out, is still alive. The battle in Paris promises to be a thrilling one.
