Ian Wright Backs Saka To Wait For Bigger Deal at Arsenal: "He’s the future of the club"

Ian Wright believes that Bukayo Saka is taking a good decision by stalling his Arsenal contract deal.

Arsenal has offered him a 5-year extension – but the teenager hasn’t said yes to the Gunners yet, even though he only has a year left on his current deal with Arsenal. Liverpool is eyeing Saka and might want to sign him, so that’s probably why Saka is holding out – and Ian Wright supports him.

The reason for the support is that Callum Hudson-Odoi also went through same situation at Chelsea, and was given a £120,000-a-week deal, because he held out.

Speaking to Dazn, Wright said about Saka: “He’s right, him and his representatives, to hold out as best they can because he’s the future of the club.

“They cannot afford to let a player like this to leave.

“When you look at what Callum Hudson-Odoi has done and he’s a year younger, the contract he signed, Saka’s representatives will be saying, ‘Why should I sign for any less?’

“I believe he will sign but I do think him and his reps are doing the right thing by dragging it out to get the best deal they can.

“Arsenal is the right place for him at the moment.”
