The Gunners held title rivals Liverpool in a pulsating 1-1 draw at Anfield on Saturday and Mikel Arteta’s men will top the table at Christmas for the second year running.
Gabriel’s early header was canceled out by Mohamed Salah’s 29th minute goal but both managers will be happy enough to secure a point each.
But Salah went past Oleksandr Zinchenko after a brilliant 60-yard long ball from Trent Alexander-Arnold which Gabriel Jesus failed to stop.
The Gunners are now one point clear of second-place Liverpool heading into the festive period.
Wright told Premier League Productions: ‘The thing is, firstly, you cannot give Trent Alexander-Arnold that much space.
‘Once you get into this situation (Salah with the ball) he wants to come inside, and Zinchenko knows this, but not many people can stop him.
‘You’ve got to do a lot more. You cannot let him get inside that easy. It’s margins. It’s the margins our manager always speaks about in terms of winning games.
‘That’s why we have drawn that game. We could not stop that happening.’
