Ian Wright has hailed Arsenal goalkeeper Leno for his magnificent saves against Tottenham Hotspur yesterday.
He also outlined the progress of Arsenal this season.
“It was a magnificent save,” he said, speaking on BBC programme Match of the Day. “When you see [Christian] Eriksen and how close he was, I screamed because I thought there’s 1-1. He [Leno] saves it with his legs brilliant but the second save, the reactions, Sissoko is thinking it’s a certain goal but it’s magnificent.”
“I was quite disappointed in the end when you consider the chances but I thought he [Emery] changed the system, left out a few players and played on the counter attack. I thought they were very disciplined today and unfortunate not to win in the end,” he added.
The Gunners were excellent last night against Tottenham Hotspur. Unai Emery’s game plan worked really well until the officials made a mistake when they clearly failed to judge Harry Kane offside.
Further mistakes from officials saw the game end 1-1 and Arsenal were left disappointed with the result. A clearly deluded Pochettino said, “Tottenham were the better team.”
