Inter CEO, Giuseppe Marotta rates the Spaniard highly and wants to bring him to the San Siro. Bellerin is considered a “young and quality” alternative to Antonio Candreva.
The report suggests that Atletico Madrid and Sevilla are also interested in the 25-year-old even though Bellerin personally would like a Serie A move. His development at Arsenal have stagnated over the recent years. While he did wow the fans initially under Arsene Wenger, Bellerin has mostly remained the same player that we saw 5 years back.
A serious knee injury did not help ease the Spaniard’s Emirates stay, robbing him of game time for over 7 months. Once he returned to action this season, Bellerin has struggled to impress, consecutively picking up more injuries. Arsenal view him as a trading piece but only for the right price.
Mikel Arteta will be motivated to revamp his squad in the coming summer which could mean dealing away some current players. A bunch of defenders could head for the exit door including Bellerin. However, it would be unfair to completely write off the former Barcelona youth player. He is greatly loyal to the club and was in line to become one of the team captains. He should be allowed at least till the end of the season to prove his worth before being done away with.
