Jamie Carragher backs Arsenal to beat Man City on Sunday

Arsenal has surpassed Liverpool at the top of the Premier League standings; the defending champions have dropped their last four league contests. Despite all of the early-season injuries that Arsenal has experienced, Mikel Arteta’s team has been strong.

Although Liverpool was predicted to win the league once more, their recent problems have raised the possibility that the team may not be as powerful as originally believed. Jamie Carragher, a former Liverpool player, has expressed his opinions about which team will be the biggest threat to Arsenal’s prospects of winning the championship, and he does not want his old team to do so.

Carragher said in his Telegraph essay that he believes Erling Haaland and Manchester City pose the biggest threat to Arsenal’s failure to win the championship. “Arsenal came into this season worried about Liverpool being the major obstacle to ending a 21-year title wait,” Carragher stated.

“Erling Haaland may now be their greatest dread. Manchester City has the most important player and dynamic attacker, while Arsenal has the best team among the contenders and Liverpool has to address long-standing problems.

Carragher names Arsenal’s biggest title race edge

Carragher, a former defender for Liverpool, has discussed what he believes makes Arsenal such a difficult opponent, emphasising their set-piece danger. Eight of Arteta’s team‘s league goals this season have come from corners or free kicks, demonstrating their skill in dead-ball situations.

He stated, “I’m a Liverpool fan; I’m watching Arsenal and every time they get a corner, my head is in my hands,” on the Premier League Podcast on Sky Sports.

“This is unlike anything I’ve ever witnessed in football. I believe that everyone in the football world believes they will score a goal every time they get a corner. Arteta has been informed that his team has mastered the corner kick. However, this honour is insufficient for the aspirational Spaniard.

“We aspire to rule over everything. The world’s best set pieces. The world’s best high press. The world’s best in public areas. “The best at everything and the best atmosphere in the stadium,” he remarked.
