Jamie Redknapp believes Ben White would be an Arsenal legend

Arsenal signed Ben White on a five-year contract.

The Gunners fanbase needs to be patient with the England defender who joined the North London club for a reported £50million fee.

He missed games against Chelsea and Manchester City over the past two weeks due to COVID.

The Gunners have already conceded nine goals in their last three Premier League games.

Liverpool legend Jamie Redknapp believes that Gunners need more than Ben White to save the club at the moment.

The 23-year old has been rated as one of the most high-profile signings this summer.

Redknapp said: “He can’t save Arsenal on his own and Arsenal fans are going to need patience with him.

“He’s not necessarily a leading centre-back, he’s a player who plays alongside someone who will go and head the ball and he’ll sweep up beside him.

“But have patience because he will be a fantastic defender.

“He’s young and the pressure at Arsenal is immense right now, but he is one for the long term.”
