Former Arsenal goalkeeper Jens Lehmann believes that Lucas Torreira will have the toughest 90 minutes of his career today when Arsenal take on Liverpool at the Emirates.
Torreira joined Arsenal this summer from Sampdoria. He has adapted to English football well and has become an integral player under Unai Emery.
However, Lehmann believes that facing Liverpool will be a tough challenge for the Uruguayan defensive midfielder.
Lehmann said, “Yeah so far he looks like [he’s the answer to Arsenal’s midfielder problems], in challenges that have been not as big as he’s facing on Saturday.”
The former Germany international also said that he would not like to see Unai Emery playing Granit Xhaka at left-back. Xhaka played in the left-back role in Arsenal’s match against Crystal Palace due to the absence of the injured Nacho Monreal.
He said, “I don’t know about that – Xhaka at left back. That’s obviously where you can expose him. I don’t think they will turn up like that against Liverpool.”
Both Arsenal and Liverpool are enjoying long unbeaten streaks. While Arsenal have not lost their last 13 matches, Liverpool have not lost any of their Premier League matches this season so far.
