Arsenal’s lack of cutting edge in front of goal has led to calls for reinforcements, with former Gunners striker Jeremie Aliadiere urging his old club to consider a bold move for Liverpool’s Darwin Nunez.

Arsenal Urged to Pursue £64m Darwin Nunez to Revive Title Ambitions

The Gunners find themselves nine points adrift of Premier League leaders Liverpool, following a frustrating run of three league games without a win.

This slump has exposed concerns about their attacking depth, with Kai Havertz’s inconsistent form and Gabriel Jesus’s patchy displays leaving Arsenal in need of a reliable goal scorer.

Aliadiere, a member of Arsenal’s iconic “Invincibles,” believes Nunez could provide the spark Arsenal desperately need.

The Uruguayan striker joined Liverpool from Benfica in 2022 for £64 million but has struggled to establish himself as a regular starter under new manager Arne Slot.

Despite this, Aliadiere remains convinced of Nunez’s potential impact at the Emirates.

“I’m a massive fan of Darwin Nunez,” Aliadiere shared in an interview with Football365.

“His work ethic, his runs, and his determination are exceptional. I’d love to see him at Arsenal. Even if he needs several chances to score, his effort and the chaos he creates for defenders make him invaluable.”

The 24-year-old striker has endured a mixed season at Liverpool, managing just two league goals.

Yet his relentless energy and ability to stretch defenses have caught Aliadiere’s eye, who feels Arsenal would benefit from such a dynamic presence in the final third.

Arsenal’s current options have faced scrutiny, with Havertz, a makeshift striker, struggling to deliver consistently and Jesus often dropping deep to influence build-up play.

Aliadiere questioned whether either player could lead Arsenal’s line across a grueling season that includes both Premier League and Champions League campaigns.

A move for Nunez in January would undoubtedly be ambitious, requiring Arsenal to negotiate with a direct rival.

But as they look to reignite their title challenge, a marquee signing like Nunez could provide the clinical edge they’ve been missing.

With the transfer window looming, all eyes will be on Arsenal’s next move as they seek to close the gap on the league leaders.
