With just one more game left to play this season, the Englishman might be strongly considering a switch this summer.
Arsenal are still contracted with him for three more seasons. He previously spent his senior career at North London, mostly playing sporadially under Mikel Arteta. At Newcastle, he has broken out as a goalscoring midfielder and integral part of Steve Bruce’s side.
Willock became the youngest player to score in six consecutive Premier League games after his strike against Sheffield United. Whether he returns to Arsenal and stays cannot be said for certain.
Willock told NUFC TV via The Northern Echo, “I want to say thank you for making me feel so welcome and thank you for greeting me with open arms.
“I hope you’re satisfied with what I’ve given for the club so far and hopefully there’s more to continue in the future. I’m not going to promise anything, but the conversation is going to be held.”
Willock did not exactly wipe out any possibility of a return. He clearly is loved by the Magpies fans. If The Gunners were to offload him, they now have leverage to demand a higher fee.
