In the first game of the regular season, the Dutchman started instead of Gabriel Magalhaes because of his strong preseason performance. Mikel Arteta had great expectations for Timber and thought that he would be a key factor in helping Arsenal win this season. The former Ajax defender seems to be out for the entire first half of the season, which is unfortunate.
Timber’s name was sadly left out of Arsenal’s squad list when it was made public on their website for the Champions League group stages. In the second part of the season, there can be opportunities to change the lineup.
In a more encouraging development, the Gunners have incorporated Declan Rice, Kai Havertz, and David Raya into the Champions League roster.
This omission demonstrates that Timber’s injury is more severe than some may have initially believed, but we can only hope that he will recover in time for the second half of the season.
We don’t need to rush him back; we have more than enough coverage in place right now, and we should be able to get to the knockout rounds without him.
