It has been established by Granit Xhaka’s agent that the midfielder is set on a move to Hertha Berlin.
Given how he started against Bournemouth and the importance of his position, Mikel Arteta might move to sign an immediate replacement. Rabiot seems to be a perfect successor. He is left-footed, well reputed in France, trained in the Manchester City academy for 9 years and is currently unsettled in the Bianconeri ranks.
The 24-year-old has started just 5 games since signing for them for free last summer. Arsenal were strongly linked to Rabiot back then but Unai Emery chose to make other reinforcements.
“He has struggled to settle into our football, but that is normal,” said Sarri of the troubled midfielder. “He also came off an injury and struggled more in the first half in Germany [against Leverkusen], but he came out towards the end. He is also quite introverted, which doesn’t help him to settle.”
If Juve outright reject an advances for Arsenal, it is likely they will reject any other team as well. They are not interested in even loaning him for the remainder of the season. Maybe Arteta will have to work out a way to get Rabiot since Juve hold all the bargaining chips at the moment.
